What does your happy place look like? To Artist Sion Knight, it is amongst snow capped mountains and inside her bright and bold paintings. Sion shares her creative process with us, and why she paints for herself first and foremost; bringing her studio with her as she travels around the world.
Brittany Metka lets her intuition and inner wisdom guide her with her colourful abstract paintings. She embraces the process and feels the colours as she paints; viewing any "accidental" marks made, as a moment of collaboration between herself and the painting. Abstract art allows Brittany to connect to herself and feel present. Brittany shares her creative process and art rituals with us, and talks about how she manages feelings of anxiety and moments of waiting and wanting.
Kira Behnert channels her positive outlook on life into her art; contrasting powerful, bright colours with subdued tones to reflect her respect for nature and the opportunities life's challenges bring. Inspired by her travels to the Middle East, Southern Europe and sunny California, Kira's work is driven by emotions; she continues to ‘write chapters’ until she feels the story is told. Her art intends to radiate this positivity in people's homes.
Charlotte Keates invites us to step into her detailed, idyllic interiors and calming architectural scenes. Here, the viewer can choose to occupy the space themselves, from the inside looking out or from the outside looking in – like a scene in a movie. Charlotte’s work is inspired by travels around the world, and seeks to explore the ergonomics of a space and how humans act and react to architectural spaces –making you want to jump in, explore and relax.
